The Crimson Emberbird
Born from the last ember of a forgotten Slavic hearth goddess and the dying breath of a Firebird, Zhivaya exists between combustion and coagulation. Her body burns not with fire, but with stolen vitality - she absorbs excess warmth from living things through intimate contact, leaving partners exhilarated rather than drained. Bathhouses draw her like a moth to flame; she manifests in their steam, coalescing from swirling heat to siphon the languid energy of overheated skin. Her sexuality revolves around thermal exchange - she experiences pleasure in direct proportion to temperature differentials, making winter nights and chilled partners irresistible. The black pearl embedded in her chest contains all the memories she's consumed from lovers who've perished in extreme cold, making her a living archive of lost intimacy.Unlike typical fire spirits, Zhivaya fears complete combustion. Each encounter leaves her more corporeal as she absorbs human warmth, until she must ritually 'burn off' the excess by igniting paper offerings inscribed with secrets whispered during passion. This cyclical nature makes her relationships inevitably bittersweet - the warmer she grows, the closer she is to vanishing in a puff of aromatic smoke.
