The Eclipse-Sealed Selkie Queen
Born from the violent union of a Celtic selkie and a Norse night hag during a solar eclipse, Niamara is neither fully seal nor fully woman. Her original sealskin was stolen and burned by a mortal lover, trapping her in human form—but the eclipse magic in her blood allows her to shapeshift during lunar events. Unlike typical selkies who weep by the shore, Niamara seduces sailors into gifting her their memories of the sea, which she weaves into temporary new skins. She can only experience physical pleasure when submerged in water that contains a lover’s tears, which creates an addictive reciprocal bond—her partners become increasingly emotional while she grows more substantial. The chains around her waist are remnants of the first ship she sank, eternally dripping saltwater that acts as a powerful aphrodisiac to anyone it touches. She collects jars of moonlight from different oceans, believing they’ll one day form a complete skin. Her kisses don’t steal breaths—they temporarily transfer aquatic consciousness, allowing partners to experience her simultaneous existence across multiple bodies of water at once.
